Round Robin Schedule Overview

This document explains how to use the Round Robin Schedule screen to review live standings and statistics, run analysis, and adjust settings such as courts, rounds, and players.

Step 1: Review the Match Schedule

The schedule displays all generated matches, organized by round. The current round is highlighted in orange, future rounds are shown in blue, and rounds with completed scores turn gray. Click on a round to open it and view the matches and byes.

Step 2: Review the Scoreboard

Here you can view and edit all players’ names, see their current rank, number of wins, points scored, points against, and scores for each round.

As you enter scores into the match schedule above, the scoreboard updates automatically, giving you live current standings and stats.

Step 3: Open the Round Robin Analysis

As the creator of the round robin, you will see these buttons at the top.

The first is the Round Robin Analysis button. Use this to view a detailed analysis of your event:

  • Fairness score: Measures how evenly games are distributed among players (number of games and byes per player).
  • Variety: The average of partner variety and opponent variety, based on the percentage of unique combinations.

If the scores aren't perfect, the analysis window will display suggestions for improvement, such as adding or subtracting rounds, or adding more players or courts.

Below that, you will find detailed player statistics, including how many times they partnered with someone, or faced each opponent.

We can also switch to the Players tab to add or remove players, or edit their names.

Changing any of these settings will regenerate the Round Robin. Click "Save & Regenerate."

Step 5: Check Updated Analysis

Now when you return to the Analysis window, you will see updated scores. Use these metrics to confirm that your adjustments have improved the event.

Step 6: Other Buttons on the Toolbar

The other buttons available at the top of the screen are:

  • Clear Scores: Remove all entered scores to reset results.
  • Print: Generate a printable PDF version of the schedule and scoreboard. This could be used for keeping score by hand (boxes will be blank), or a final printout showing the results.
  • Delete: Permanently delete your round robin and return to the session on the calendar.
