Using Player Lists

This document explains how to use player lists to create invite‑only sessions, manage block lists, and start group chats.

Step 1: Create an Invite-Only Session

Go to the Add Session form and complete the session details as you normally would to create a new session. To make the session invite-only, check the box labeled Invite-Only Session.

Step 2: Open and Use the Invite List Dialog

After enabling Invite-Only Session, click Edit Invite List... to open the invite list dialog.

In this dialog, you can build your invite list using the same search methods available on the My Player List screen (see Part 1 of this video series).

Within the invite list dialog, search for and add players as needed. Give the list a clear, descriptive name and save it so you can reuse it later.

Step 3: Load or Append an Existing Player List

Instead of creating a new list from scratch, you can use the My Player Lists button to load a preexisting list into the invite list dialog.

Screenshot 8

Click My Player Lists, select the list you want to use, and press Load. The loaded list will replace any players currently in the invite list. If you want to combine lists instead of replacing, use the Append button instead of Load. The names from the second list will be added to the end of your current list. You can then either give the combined list a new name or keep the same name to overwrite the existing list, similar to saving files on your computer. Enter the desired name for the combined list and click Save.

Step 4: Use Player Lists as Block Lists

You can also use player lists to block specific players from seeing and signing up for your sessions. In the session settings, check the box labeled Block Individual Players.

Click Manage Block List... to open the same style of dialog used for invite lists, where you can create or load a list.

Step 5: Start a Group Chat Using a Player List

To use player lists for group chats, navigate to the Chats tab using the button at the bottom of the window.

To start a new group conversation, click New Chat.

In the new chat window, click the My Player Lists button.

Select your desired list and click Load to add all players from that list into the chat.

You can also search by name or email to add additional participants. When ready, click Continue.

You will be asked to provide a group name to display. If you do not want participants to see the original list name, edit the group name here. You can also choose whether participants can see who else is in the chat, or keep the participant list hidden. Click Continue to open the new group chat window.

Step 6: Start a Group Chat Directly from the My Player List Screen

Another way to initiate a group chat from a player list is to go directly to the My Player Lists screen. Load the desired list, and click the Chat button.
