May 30th notes.
On June 3rd, the IPA will be hosting the first session of our annual Introduction to Pickleball led by John Miner. These sessions will run through June and will take place at our 3 North Hero courts behind the North Hero Elementary School. To sign up for either the 8:00a or 10:00a initial session (they may already be full) please call John at (704) 490-2606 or email him at jpminer@bellsouth.net. There will be a limit of 12 players per session.
Also, for all players, please consider finding a partner and signing up for the VRPA Vermont State Championship as outlined in the flyer we sent out earlier this week. The proceeds from the Tournament will go to supporting Rec Programs and Rec Professionals around the state.
1. Donaldson will continue with three skill based sessions Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Tuesdays and Fridays will have only two skill based sessions. Sundays will continue with two Open Play sessions. Scheduled sessions at the two Alburgh courts started this week on M/W/F. Isle La Motte (Port-a-Potty has been delivered) is on the Scheduler with two courts on Tu/Th/Sa - just a REMINDER that the nets on the painted court in ILM should be moved to the edge of the asphalt only. Please do not move it to the grass as it interferes with the mowing and creates issues -thanks. North Hero has been patched and painted with play scheduled to begin (on weekends only till school gets out) starting next Saturday - the 27th. Starting June 3rd, the courts are reserved on Saturday mornings for the Intro to Pickleball Sessions. We will start scheduling 7 days per week once school is over for the year - I believe it is June 16th.
Do not forget to sign up for this season on our IPA website (see below). It is very simple and will take care of this season’s waiver, as well. Let's play pickleball!
2. Donaldson is starting to fill up on certain days creating occasionally longer wait times between games. Please consider playing at different venues as the courts at Isle La Motte (painted and picture perfect) and Alburgh (just repainted) host spirited play as will North Hero. We will be creating skill based sessions at all 3 venues in an attempt to lure players to experience all IPA’s available courts.
3. Wait List: each session has a wait list. If the maximum has been reached you can still add your name to the wait list. That way if anyone drops off, the wait list names will move up automatically and will be notified by the scheduler. There is no guarantee anyone will drop off, but if they do the next wait list player can play.
4. Updated Guest Policy:
IPA members and/or season pass holders are allowed guest privileges during IPA regularly scheduled sessions. We require no more than two guests per member per session with the following rules:
The IPA reserves the right to adjust these rules as necessary.
