Dinkers & Drinkers
By: Matt – Fiddlehead Brewing Company
These are some photos of the second annual Dinkers And Drinkers Halloween Pickleball Party in Northern Vermont. This year we had 20 players participating in the fun. Although we had some light rain that night, we didn’t let it ruin the fun!
A little bit about the event. About three years ago I was introduced to pickleball from a family friend while on vacation. After playing just once I knew I needed to have a court at my home. As luck would have it, I was in the process of building a new home in the Champlain valley of Vermont just outside of Burlington.
Prior to pickleball my sports obsession was Disc Golf. Over the last decade I had built an 18 hole championship disc golf course on my property and every Wednesday in the summer host disc golf events. After the round we are always looking for something extra to do, so what better than to teach everyone to play Pickleball. Surprisingly only a few people had ever tried it but it didn’t take long till I had over 30 new converts!
As time went on, I began to wonder how my abilities were compared to “real” players as I was only playing against people I had taught. I began doing some research online and came across PlayTime Scheduler. Without hesitation I posted a game for Friday night and I called it Dinkers And Drinkers. I chose the name because in my professional life I am the owner of Fiddlehead Brewing Company which is Vermont's largest brewery. Within minutes I had 12 players sign up, It’s On! I quickly learned how amazing the community was and that although it still needed some work, my game was not half bad. I have now been hosting D&D for over 2 years on Friday nights at 5:45 till ?. Although we have a steady group of regulars we have had over 100 different players come through to play. What we found was that everyone is so incredibly nice and supportive. People bring food and I provide the beer! If you ever find yourself in the area keep an eye out on PlayTime Scheduler for Dinkers And Drinkers, we would love to have you join us!

King/Queens Quest – Indoor Pickleball Social Club
By: Karly and Isaac
This Halloween, our Indoor Pickleball Social club held an afternoon filled with costumes, competition, and camaraderie! Members and newcomers alike donned their Halloween best, transforming the courts into a spectacle of fun and creative outfits.
In the King/Queen's Quest players compete in fast-paced, timed 8-minute matches, battling their way up the court ladder to claim the ultimate title. By the end of the final round, the victorious team on Court 1 was crowned King and Queen of the courts, adding a royal finish.
Our pickleball socials continue to offer a welcoming space for players of all levels, featuring friendly competition, laughs, and a strong community spirit. These events are the heartbeat of our pickle community, and this Halloween gathering truly embodied our love for the sport. Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the courts again soon!
Happy Halloween from our amazing pickleball family!

The laughter kept us warm in the 30 degree temperatures and our hearts were warmed by all of the donations.

4th Annual Halloween Bash – Garcia Bend Park
By: Soames
We had our 4th annual Halloween Bash 🎃 last night at Garcia Bend park. This was our best turnout yet 120+ participants. We ate great food, danced and played pickleball. We also did a coat and sock drive. And, boy the Pocket Pickleball Family did not disappoint. Thank you to everyone that showed up 🥰
