Spotted on the Scheduler:
More Than Just a Game

Between April 17–19 Justin Terpstra and his family hosted, Pickleball with Purpose, a charity tournament to support the Nova Scotia Hemophilia Society. Justin’s son, Hunter, has severe hemophilia — meaning his blood won’t clot — which makes many sports tricky for him.

Over the past year they both picked up pickleball, and Hunter fell in love with the game and the welcoming community around it.

They kicked the weekend off Friday evening with a lighthearted “Mystery Partners” event, drawing names out of a hat to make 12 mixed doubles parings. Saturday featured men’s and women’s divisions, and Sunday they wrapped up the weekend with mixed doubles. All together they had 70 teams with players from 2.5 to 4.0+ skill levels playing on four courts at the NSCC Pictou gym in Stellarton.

Using PlayTime Scheduler was a lifesaver, by keeping the event organized and helping fill available spots for all three days of the event.

Justin and his family were overwhelmed by the community and industry support receiving many generous prize and raffle donations.

And the best part? After everything, they were able to raise $3,552 for the Nova Scotia Hemophilia Society.

Huge thanks to everyone who played, donated, volunteered, or cheered us on — Hunter and Justin can’t wait to do it again next year. Weekends like this are what make it more than just a game.
