We recently launched a major upgrade to our in-app chat system, transforming basic messaging into a more dynamic and powerful way for players to connect.

The new “Chats” tab brings private chats, group chats, session chats, and archived conversations together in one streamlined inbox, complete with unread indicators and live updates. The upgrade also provides a smoother mobile experience and a more modern, interactive feel. Chats now support message reactions; archive, mute, and delete options; and automatic notices when people join or leave a thread.

One of the most significant improvements is the expansion of group chat features. You can now create a group chat with any other users in the system without needing to be tied to a shared session. You can also launch conversations from your saved Player Lists. When starting a chat, you have the option to hide participant names, update group settings on the fly, add or remove members, and seamlessly grow a private conversation into a full group thread. Power Users can also turn active group chats into reusable Player Lists that can be used to generate future play sessions.

Behind the scenes, session-linked threads stay aligned with attendance changes, while smarter notification timing helps ensure important messages are seen without being overwhelming. (You can choose to receive any combination of email, push, or in-app notifications.)

As always, the Chat feature will continue to evolve. Planned enhancements include the ability to share photos, block unwanted contacts, auto-archive old chats, and more. Let us know how you like the new features!
