From the Help Desk:
Cheating, or Beating, the Rush?

It’s a problem just about everywhere – too few courts, too many pickleballers. (We remember when it was hard to find anyone who even knew what pickleball was, so in our opinion, this is a good problem to have!) In many regions, there are popular sessions with limited spots that seem to fill up the moment they are posted. Sometimes we hear from concerned users that are having trouble snagging a spot, and wondering if they are doing something wrong. We’ve answered common questions below to help clear up any confusion.

Q: Are some users receiving notifications before everyone else?
A: No. Notifications go out to all applicable players at the same time. The order is even randomized each time, to ensure that even a few seconds difference does not routinely impact the same players.

Q: Is the session organizer adding people to their session before the notifications go out?
A: No, organizers cannot add players to their own sessions. A player must add their own name.

Q: But I see notes dated prior to when the session appeared on my calendar?!

A: There is the possibility the session was initially an invite-only session, that was changed to public at some point after it was posted. In that case, the players on the original invite list would have been able to sign up before you.

Q: Are Premium Users given the opportunity to sign up before Free Users?
A: No. Becoming a Premium User does not affect which sessions you can sign up for, or when.

Q: Am I being personally discriminated against by the organizer, local admin, or PTS?
A: No. If you were blocked, you would not see the session at all.

Here are 3 tips to help you snag those much-coveted playlist spots:

1. If you haven’t already done so, download our free mobile app. The app will keep you logged in almost indefinitely for quicker access to the Scheduler.

2. Subscribe to push notifications in the mobile app, instead of relying on emails. Push notifications are delivered instantaneously, whereas emails (by their nature) can take a few moments longer to travel from our servers to your inbox.

3. For sessions that open for registration at a specific time, consider becoming a Power Userand subscribing to Registration Reminders. You will receive a push notification 15 minutes prior to the session opening for registration. That way, you can be logged in and ready to add your name as soon as the clock strikes.
