Your New Year's Pickleball Resolutions!
Last month we asked you to send in your New Year's Pickleball Resolutions. Here are some of your responses:
“Learn and practice top spin serves, deep returns, and angle dinks at least 4 times a month. Be grateful that I can play pickleball when I want and have so much while fun playing. Meet new people across the country by playing a game I love.”
– Howard L., Boston, MA
“I haven’t picked up a paddle since the start of the pandemic. Was just a beginner then and will have to start over, so my resolution is to find a beginner’s group and get back to playing.”
– Lance S., Albany, NY
“My New Years resolution is to give back. I’ve played tennis, ping pong, racquetball, golf, soccer and softball plus other sports. I am going to teach others using the sports they have played and relate the connections between the two sports so they can continue to improve on their pickleball game. I want our local players to continue to improve their game and find the love of playing pickleball. Lots of free clinics plus on the court coaching. As individuals get better our group of players become stronger and enjoy this wonderful game. Happy New Year, Bay Area Picklers.”
– Sally W., Coos Bay/North Bend, OR
“To be able to play a competitive game that makes other players not cringe when my turn comes to play with or against them!”
– Lorna P., Syndey, Nova Scotia
“My pickleball resolution is to master my dinks and not let the slammers have their way with me!”
– Paul D., South Padre Island, TX
“Of course, to play more pickleball. Started Oct 1st and I'm hooked. I will schedule 3-4 times a week, two outdoors, two indoors. As a senior, I have found this sport has everything from meeting extremely nice people to play with, also having fun with exercising. You sleep better and eat better, and you try not to take life so seriously. It's the best thing that has come in my life in a long time. I thank my neighbors who kept trying to get me to play last summer. I have joined the Bullhead City Pickleball Club which is fast growing. The city has recognized that we need more pickleball courts." - Rose D., Bullhead City, AZ
